Quevatre Family Tree

The Quevâtre family name originally came from France. The name is spelt in several ways due no doubt to the lack of literacy in the 18th and 19th century. There are several mentions of the name in the Cherbourg area of Normandy, especially around Tourlaville. There is a very small village called Quievaste, 2 km south of Tourlaville. The inhabitants were busy making cider when I went there with my father in 2001. Although very friendly and welcoming, none of them are from the Quevâtre family!
